Thanks for playing [oE] Left Behind alpha! It may be buggy, but this thread contains the rules for the server, the content pack download link, and a survival guide for any newbies.

1. ALWAYS ROLEPLAY! Roleplaying is assuming the role of a character. You pretend you are them, it's kind of like acting!
2. Never powergame! This is forcing a action on someone else.
3. Never metagame! This is using out of character information put in the OOC chat, and using it in character.
4. Always give someone a chance! Don't just shoot, keep on doing this without giving them a chance to respond, and you will get banned.
5. Be respectful and fair in fights. If you die, tough shit.
6. Roleplay fights! This is self explanatory.
7. No voice chat!
8. NO OOC CHAT IC!
9. This is hardcore, we don't give a shit if you think your death was unfair. Tough shit.
10. Yes, raiders are allowed. If you find a gun, and decide you want to rob people and fuck 'em up. Its your choice, the apocalypse sucks, so shit will suck.

If you came here from the game, and notice some characters are errors, you need the content pack. We hope to update to a SVN soon.

Zombie Apocalypse Survival Guide - By Shin.

This guide will be a tutorial on how to survive in the server, since I may soon add in the addition of "lose shit on death", basically. This guide is basically a newbie starter guide.

The first thing you need to know about is the zombie lore, which is based off of the game Project Zomboid.

-The undead like noise.
-The undead like light & fire.
-The undead infect with bites, or if they get their blood/spit or any of that stuff in a open wound. Getting a scratch in a open wound is basically infection.
-They stop coming out at day, beware the night however. Admins spawn zombies then.
-Zombies don't die out at day, however as I said, they stop coming out.

A key thing to note is, admins will get on their "director" characters to do events, like a raider. They will tell you if your character is hungry, tired, thirsty, etc. But don't expect them to do this all the time, they want to roleplay too.
They may be watching you and you don't even notice it, so we expect you to be on your best behavior.

You have a few ways to die.

-You fuck up in a accident, you could fall to death or something of the sorts.
-You could get eaten apart by zombies.
-You could get shot down by a raider.
-You could get blown apart in a military bombing
-You could be killed during a military sweep.

All of those are possible. The best way to try to avoid a permadeath is to have a Revive-o-Kit, a fairly rare item that revives you. Also make sure to have common medical items on you, such as a medkit, or a pack of steroids. They can give your health a boost so you get to live a bit longer.

While roleplaying, the admins want to make sure you keep in mind these feelings of your character

-How dark it is
-How cold it is
-How hungry they are
-How thirsty they are

Admins will keep track of you, and make sure you are surviving well. They may ask you to drop items to prove you found them and can eat/drink them.

So, how do you survive ALL these conditions without having your character meeting a unfortunate demise? Here's how, based off of the fact you just spawned.

=Starting Off=

I live in a CST time zone in America, so you should keep around the idea of a CST. I tend to place items from about 9AM to.. well, all day. I only place one batch of items a day, so if you miss a item drop, guess what? Wait until tomorrow.

When you spawn, you need to just run. Run like no tomorrow, the odds are there are some vicious players out there, or a nice pack of attracted zombies. It's best just to run for a house, and get looting. You should take the times where me and the other admins aren't spectating on you to get as much looting done as possible, because when we do, we do make sure you are aware of the elements.

You're going to need these things.

-Food, common.
-Drink, common.
-Melee weaponry, uncommon.
-Loaded firearm, rare, optional.
-Generator, uncommon, optional.
-Gas, uncommon, optional.

You will need the food and drink to survive when the directors are watching you, you will need a firearm or a melee weapon for self defense, you will need a generator and gas can to power up a safehouse so that it is lit up, and has heating to warm you and other characters up.

Once you have all of this ready, you should setup a safehouse. It's very recommended to have the generator and gas. Remember: you only have 20 inventory slots. Make them count.

=Setting up your Safehouse=

Setting up a safehouse is a good idea, so your character has a set place for friends(and enemies) to go to, eat, sleep, drink and all that. Once a safehouse is claimed, it's yours. The admins will place a text on the house to say it is yours! Once you have found a location you like, ask for a admin to come to you. They may be busy, so please be patient. You show them your generator and gas, and they set up the safehouse for you. You will have the area ICly powered up, so your character remains nice and warm, and the area is lit up during the night so seeing is possible. If you roleplay finding furniture, we can setup some permaprops for you. We recommend you take constant screenshots of your item stack for evidence, since during restarts items are lost. If you need us to lock up your home when you are gone, please ask. We can propblock it so no players decide to sneak in like naughty thieving motherfuckers.

=Standing Out=

We use the script called Tiramisu 2 with our own Schema to run the server, and Tiramisu 2 happens to come with character customization. Your character is split up into two parts, helmet and body. You will be able to find clothing and helmets, which you can wear. Some will have armor values, some are just for show. You could be that guy in the doctors coat with a mau5head. Or the guy in the rebel suit with a military soldier's helmet. Your clothing decisions and mixtures will make your character unique and recognizable, and I am constantly adding in more clothes so more people can stand out in the apocalypse. So, make sure to grab some clothes and set your self up so you look different.

Once you look different, you already can be this one person people may want to talk to, just because you look odd, cool, or really fucking weird. Most people are shy, and don't want to start too much conversations unless grouped up. So, you may want to start conversations your self. Just remember: not everyone is a friend.
